The company has also increased its hourly wages by $2/hour in the U.S., C$2/hour in Canada, and €2/hour in many EU countries through April. They have doubled the regular hourly base pay for every overtime hour worked and are offering extra time off with full pay for those diagnosed with COVID-19.

Last month, the e-commerce giant faced criticism for failing to protect its hundreds of thousands of employees and delivery workers during the coronavirus outbreak after several cases were reported in its facilities in the U.S., as well as Italy and Spain.

The company stated that it’s made more than 150 significant process changes to protect employees, including enhanced cleaning” and social distancing measures.

It has also begun distributing personal protective gear, such as masks for our employees , and implementing temperature checks across their operations worldwide. Additionally, it is also building its own COVID-19 testing labs for workers.
